My name is Weeda, and my love for food and culture has shaped my journey in ways I never imagined. Born in Afghanistan, raised in Sweden, and now calling the U.S. home since 2004, I have always had a passion for exploring the world through its flavors. Traveling to different countries has given me the opportunity to experience diverse spices, tastes, and cooking traditions—but no cuisine has ever compared to the rich, authentic flavors of Afghan food, especially the recipes passed down in my family.
I learned the art of Afghan cooking from my mother, whose approach to traditional dishes like Qabuli Palaw is anything but ordinary. She used a unique blend of spices, different from what most Afghan chefs use, creating flavors that are deep, aromatic, and unforgettable. Cooking for my family and friends has always been a source of joy, but over time, I realized my passion extended beyond my own kitchen.
Seeing the joy on people’s faces when they tasted my food sparked something in me—a calling I never expected. The heartfelt compliments and encouragement from those around me made me think, “Why not share this with more people?” That’s how my catering business was born.
Now, with over 20 years of cooking experience, I’m honored to bring the warmth and authenticity of Afghan cuisine to your table. Whether you’re new to Afghan food or have been craving the flavors of home, I’m excited to share my passion with you, one dish at a time.
